ISO 8573-1 is the main document of the ISO 8573 series, as it specifies the level of contamination allowed for every type of contaminant in each cubic metre of compressed air. ISO 8573-1 lists the main contaminants such as solid particulate, water and oil (in the form of aerosol and vapour). The maximum levels for every contaminant are shown separately in tabular form, but to make the document easier to understand, all three contaminants are combined.
Food Industry
When dealing with food, hygiene is the main requirement to guarantee the quality of finished products. During production, the pneumatic processes and the transport of substances require compressed air of absolute purity. For packaging, clean compressed air is indispensable for cleaning, for example when using compressed air to clean plastic bottles or containers. Our process technology provides for the tailor-made treatment of compressed air via the discharge of condensate, filtration and drying.
Pharmaceutical Industry
The most rigorous hygiene standards are applied in the production of pharmaceuticals. This obviously also applies to the compressed air that is used. This air must be absolutely free from oil so as not to contaminate sensitive products, for example in the production of pills: any dust is removed down-stream of the press with compressed air. Ace Air offers personalised solutions to prepare oil-free process air safely
Electronics Industry
In the electronics industry, compressed air is used in various ways: as a means of transport and cleaning, as energy support for compressed air tools. In any application, the compressed air requirements are high in terms of purity. With the components in the system combined to best effect, we guarantee an unbeatable treatment of the compressed air throughout the process. The METPOINT® OCV continuously measures the residual oil vapour content in the compressed air and makes that quality visible.
THE QUALITY OF AIR CANNOT BE SEEN BUT CAN BE MEASURED!
CRITICAL OIL-FREE AIR APPLICATIONS
Do you require an oil-free compressor?, or oil-free air?, there is a difference!
For ‘critical’ oil-free applications where an oil-free compressor cannot guarantee Class 1 under all conditions, the BEKOKAT treatment technology guarantees to meet the requirement under all operating conditions
Observe the graph which indicates actual measured amounts of residual oil content from 100% oil-free compressors (top two blue lines), Both these 100% oil-free compressors fail to meet Class 1, ISO 8573-1 (Red line)
Air treated with BEKOKAT technology (bottom blue line), exceeds Class 1, ISO 8573-1 thus ensuring air with residual oil content down to 0.001mg/m3, independent from quality of ambient air and certified by third party organisation. The treated air is also Germ-Free
